Event: Trivia
Another month down. 36 in a row. Boggles the mind. I continue to enjoy every moment with the SFC fellas, even on lame events like trivia. Sure there have been better events…like almost all of them, and sure we’ll make the most of the lame ones that require no planning and are just thrown in at the last minute because some people don’t value our time together as much as others, but in the end, it’s the time together that takes a lame event and turns it into a great memory. I’m glad this was the last lame one and it’s all smooth sailing from here!
Death to trivia.
Looking forward the SFC olympics for number 37.
Not sure how Bob came out of this one alive as he was truly a marked man, guess he can thank the lack of SMS/text/iMessage standardization for his survival.
Every solid organization sometimes has to schedule a ‘come to Jesus’ to look itself in the mirror and ensure they are not deviating from what is right and what is wrong, today it was just that for the SFC contingent. We are now cleansed.
The pizza was outstanding… too bad Scott and Greg ordered rabbit food.
Twenty points on best selling authors? Really, Marko? Thanks for blowing it for us!
RIP Pub Trivia, we have far greater things to conquer!
I’m bummed we won’t be able to use the handle “Cinco de Gallo” anymore. Of course gallo in Spanish means “rooster,” or “cock” if you prefer. Delicious double entendre. Maybe we should start a boy band. Or a handball team. Who knows, maybe next month?
I personally love pub trivia….perhaps it’s my class B personality, maybe C.
Although I’m in agreement that variety helps revitalize the Club. What the Club has suffered from is a lack of effective governance. Let it not falter like the parliamentary stalemates/shenanigans that destroyed the Polish state in the Nineteenth century. I admit I suck at choosing activities, and hence don’t like doing it; has nothing to do with my lack of love for the Club. Let peoples’ strengths be used where most effective…a special subcommittee should be formed for the task. Let’s get it right, so like the Polish state, the Club can be reborn.
Your Humble Club Member,
Bob
Trivia…. You’ve been good to us. You were easy to plan and always fun to play. There was always the thrill of betting 0 points on the final question and the agony of betting 0 when we knew the answer, but so did every other team. We got a couple free meals because of you, so thanks useless knowledge. As we close out year 3 of SFC, it’s time to close you out as well… Unless we decide to go trivia pro and make some real money.
Here’s to the next 3 years and seeing how creative we can get again… I’m hoping that it may be a little more local cause while it took the other 4 ten minutes to get home, I just got home a few minutes ago!
